The Department of Statistics joins statisticians from the fields of mathematical statistics and biostatistics. It is run jointly by the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
In the department we conduct research in mathematical statistics and biostatistics. In a variety of applied projects we collaborate with researchers from other disciplines. For information about our research activities, please refer to our research home page. The department is responsible for teaching statistics and biostatistics in various programs at both Faculties. Further, the department offers a statistical consulting service, which is open to researchers and students.
The Department was founded on January 1st 2003, as a partial continuation of the former Department of Statistics and Demography. A list of publications of the former Department can be found here and here.
